Nexus 7 unusable after 5.1 topic

I know that 5.1 update should make my tablet smoother... And i also know that nexus 7 is an old device... But i also know that an update shouldn't make my tablet a brick. It's useless now..i can't even search something on chrome because it crashes or it freezes... When i use my tablet my ram is like half empty and i have 8 GB free of unused memory.
What do you think guys i should do? Should i throw it away?
