so i was toying with going back to an aosp kk rom but when i last tried it seemed like my signal would drop more than on say viperone. is there something i could do to fix this? ( i personally enjoyed 4.4.4 more than any of the aosp roms for 5.0.

I really just want to document my experience with Nexus Support and Motorola.

I have been having non-stop issues with my Nexus 6.
Model: Nexus 6
Android version: 5.1
Baseband version: MDM9625_104446.01.02.95R
Kernel version: 3.10.40-geec2459
Build number: LMY47D
Model XT1103 / FCC ID: IHDT56QD1

Basically, I used the Google Developers page to install this firmware version.
Ever since then, I've been having the most bizarre issues.
  1. The phone becomes unresponsive, slow to wake up, slow to type, slow to do ANYTHING

  2. I enabled show screen touches on Dev menu

  3. I can see that the screen knows I'm touching it, but it's not actually computing those changes.

  4. After some time, it kinda wakes up and slowly processes my input.

  5. It is only 'resolvable' by restarting the phone.

  6. incoming call? Nah, you don't get to swipe to answer... call drops before it even responds

  7. My LG G Watch will ring and my phone never will. I can't afford that.

  8. Keyboard will provide haptic feedback that I'm trying to type, and the focus APPEARS to be on the search bar or in a hangouts window, but it never popualtes the text far.

So basically, I have had it.
I chatted with Nexus Support and spoke to Deven who told me that I should contact Motorola, where I purchased my phone. He also told me that the images found on https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images are not valid for the Motorola purchased Nexus 6. I was very mad about hearing this, I only buy Nexus so I can get these latest updates. He said that the phone Google sales is the "Google Play edition" and the one that Motorola sells, he has no idea but it isn't the same. He told me to downgrade to 5.0 and wait for OTA upgrades to the "correct" version of 5.1. since I told him I installed 5.1 through that site. He told me not to tell Motorola about using the dev.google.com page to install 5.1.
Apathetic to Deven's support, I went to Motorola and chatted with them. Gave them the same story about my device. They escalated me to Level 2. I called Level 2 and the guy did an RMA for my phone because of the kinds of problems.
After the RMA was processed, I asked him if I should be using the Google Developers page to flash my ROM on my phone. He informed me that Motorola is aware of an issue and are addressing it with the factory images (basically confirming to me that using factory images can have problems at this time). I asked if those are being addressed in the 5.1.1 factory image and he confirmed. He said they're not sure on date but expecting 5.1.1 release in July.

I just wish I had a fully functional phone I didn't have to restart every few hours.

My Motorola RMA reference also mentions that the phone is (XT1112, XT1107). From another thread, I noticed that some people saw this from Motorola but also get another US version of their phone (XT1103).

I have HTC One M7, stock ROM, unbranded, S-OFF only, and I am experiencing random freezes after update to Andoid 5 few weeks ago.
I never had any performance problems before. Now, phone grinds to halt few times a day, I have to wait from 1 to 5 minutes until it unfreezes and is usable, I have a random restart once every ~2 weeks, and 75% of times copying any data from PC (tried Windows 7 and CentOS Linux) to phone freezes the phone completely and only hard reboot helps. Accessing data i.e. movies / music sometime takes a few seconds (but this is minor problem comparing to the previous ones)
Some applications cause parts of the operating system to crash (this is my wild guess as how would I know what is really hapening there)- yesterday I used Skype and phone "restarted" - had HTC One boot up screen on, but still continued Skype conversation for another 10 minutes, had to hard restart phone afterwards as could not hand up or anything else.
I have tried restoring to factory settings - no difference.

Any idea what's wrong? Is this a known issue? Halp.
Tempted to try custom ROM / flashing RUU and never updating to Android 5.

My wife as a stock/unrooted 1G Moto G (4.4.4).

Randomly it hangs... Sometimes with the display on.. the clock doesn't change. It reboots by holding the power button.

I notice it hangs more frequently during market updates, but sometimes it does it without a market update. It is much less frequent (if it happens, don't remember) when booted into safe mode. When it's hung, I'm not able to get a usb connection for adb.

When this first started, I did a factory reset. It worked fine for about a month, and now it's started again. No additional apps were installed.

I'm suspecting an internal storage write failure that isn't being handled by the operating system correctly.
  • Has anyone ever heard of this happening?

  • Is this a known bug in the 4.4.4 kernel? Maybe a 3rd party rom would fail gracefully?

  • Any other solution? A search on XDA didn't come up with an app to exercise storage w/o flashing

Hi,
I have a bunch of random contacts/emails from my email accounts. None of them are synced to the phone, but they're still showing up on my contacts list. Some of them are just emails from people I've emailed once before.

Is there a way to remove them from my list?

Thanks!

Hi
I am running Lee droid 7.4 but previously I was running an AOSP build.
It had a feature in the alarm clock where you could select random and it would play a random MP3 when the alarm went off. Does any one know what alarm this is? I think it was the standard AOSP alarm. I think I was running insert coin at the time. Would it be possible to integrate it into my current rom?

Hey guys i got a metro PCS galaxy s6, SM-G920T1 that has a security error when i boot up, something about a flashed software and its locked. I looked through a few threads but couldn't find the answer, it has a good baseband, G920T1UVU1AOCH, but the IMEI is a weird number but not null, shows up as 3500000000006, anyone know how i can fix it or is it a paper weight?

I have tried to reload the SW on there, it says sucessful but the IMEI did not fix

thanks
