Hi everyone,

I've been used CM for a long time, but recently I found a article of GIZMODO which cause me a huge concern.

The report (written by a Carnegie Mellon professor and published in Vocativ and Gizmodo) stirred up widespread concern, identifying apps that mysteriously “know everything about you.” If you dig deeper into the report, you'll see that the company with the most of these privacy-invading apps on the list is Cheetah Mobile. These include CM Security, Clean Master, and Battery Doctor.

CM Security-AppLock & AntiVirus flags for 29 privacy permissions, some of which include call logs, text messages, and contact lists to name a few. And where the data is used thereafter is unknown to anyone else but Cheetah, leaving its users open to privacy vulnerabilities.

Anything by Cheetah Mobile has been known for quite a while to be not only basically functionally worthless, but just plain evil. Hijacks your device, throws up nag ads.

With Cheetah Mobile’s aggressive mobile advertising foray as the public company advances its investors’ interests, it’s evident that private information from users of Clean Master, CM Security, and Battery Doctor are fed into its advertising system to deliver ads to Cheetah Mobile users and then monetize their data at the expense of its users’ privacy as suggested by Gizmodo.

I decide to uninstall it and hope this can help others.

I've somehow lost all the data on my sdcard.

Device is an LG G2 D802, running stock lollipop 5.0.2 --> THIS ROM, V30b

I had my phone hooked to pc and all was OK. I was able to move files around and everything was present.
Then I tried accessing a folder (after being able too) having left my PC for a few minutes, and an error popped up on windows, I can't remember what, something along the lines of "the device cannot be accesses".
I then disconnected the USB

How can I retreive my data. I'm more concerned about pictures and videos.
I've tried a few apps, but aren't having much success.
A lot of files don't display correctly and some files aren't even being found.

Any help is appreciated

I've seen this happen on any rom whether it be stock or custom. WiFi tether or stock tether. I can't vouch for USB tether as I don't use it much. Basically the 4G stops working all together. My Hotspot will still be on. So what I do to fix it is go in my apn settings and refresh the connection by selecting an alternate or selecting an alternate and setting back on the same apn. Does anyone have an answer for why this happening? Is it the note 3? Or is it t-mobile? I've ran a speed test when this happens and it does not send or receive packets.

I think the screen shot explains everything. Let me know if you need more info. This happened after updating to lollipop 5.0

You've probably heard this song and dance before, but my phone only charges if I hold the connector a little to the left of the port of the phone. This is a phone issue, I've tried like 5 cables. I am rooted so I'm worried att will just turn me away if I go to a repair place. I am s-on. I'm hoping maybe this is something I can fix myself. Any ideas?
Secondly, today I noticed that my mobile data only works for browsing google. Only google's web results show up. If I click on a link from there, it won't work. Any other app does not work. I've tried a soft reset and rebooting several times, and no I don't have any proxies enabled. If anyone has the stock lollipop build.prop, I'd really appreciate that. Very strange issue that I've never heard of. Running elementalx kernel and stock rom.

I have a Nexus 6, purchased directly from Motorola, running on the Verizon network. I recently flashed to factory image 5.1.0 (LMY47I), but am still unable to use data, i.e. browse the Internet and use Facebook, while using voice to talk on the phone. I thought that flashing to LMY47I would finally give me simultaneous voice and data, but that hasn't proved to be the case. How do I achieve simultaneous voice and data?

I was originally a Verizon user so I'm not used to this kind of weak connection.
I had my phone replaced already due to another issue a few weeks ago
so I don't want to get another replacement because of this. it is really annoying!
Instead I will ask here and see if anyone could help !

**This has nothing to do with WiFi (because WiFi works great!)**
**And nothing to do with calls because call quality and connection showed no problems**
**Not exactly sure this problem started, just started getting annoyed with it recently**

\- What my phone is doing (when I'm at home) -/

1. Slow transition from WiFi connection
- When I turn Wifi off, I don't get an immediate data reception. Instead it takes about 10 seconds and then I barely start to get 3g..... not lte .... (It's not like this in every place)

2. Not much LTE
- It happens really rarely, most of the time at home the connection is on 3g :(

3. Lose data connection even while in use
- It's just sometimes unstable. When I'm browsing the web (while in 3g) it would sometimes go down to no bars at all and lose internet connectivity, then the 3g and I have to wait again until it comes back.
- Data roaming automatically turns on saying that I lost connection -_-

4. 3g is sometimes really unresponsive
- Just like when it is when turning off Wifi
- 3g would stay idle for sometime, even when I open apps that require internet
- Sometimes the 3g just disappears and decides not to comeback for a while

5. Bars up and down (drains battery?)
- I see this too often, like in every hour. While in 3g, the bars get suddenly full, then in an instant it drops to 1, then to 2. Then sometimes to no bars at all.
* in LTE it never gets like this, just constantly 1 bar

6. Maybe it's where I live?
- Possibly, but it's quite an urban and Sprint should have no problem covering this area in my opinion
- Verizon wasn't like this (although not perfect)

7. This is annoying
-Because it is draining the battery -_-
-Because my sister's iPhone 6 performs better (always has 2~3 bars) & my brother's S6 (though relatively weaker than her's) does not seem to lose connection compared mine at home (We're all Sprint users)

\- What I've done to confront this problem -/

1) Called Sprint, but didn't help at all. They told me to just take it to the store and have them take a look -__- Agent hardly knew anything...

2) Flashed Stock ROM and hard reset the phone (so annoying since you have to set things up again)

3) Made sure I set mobile data Network Mode to 'AUTOMATIC'

4) Made sure I have the latest Software version and have the PRL and Profile updated

But still no result at this point.

***Could this be a hardware issue? Or a software issue that is fixable?***

Can anyone give me some advice on how to fix this?

I mean it's just that the data reception is too weak an unreliable to think this is okay.

Right now my phone is pretty empty, barely any apps because of the reset.

I really don't want to believe it's due to a faulty hardware!

P.S. Possibly symptom?
The first day I got this phone as a replacement out of the store, I was unable to connect to the internet using data, even though calling was working.
What it was doing was, constantly switching from 3g - lte - inactive 3g - nothing - 3g - so on in a 20 second cycle.
By the end of that day towards midnight it was connecting to the internet.

Hi guys it's almost been a month since I installed the OTA update for CM12. But even since I did that, I haven't been able to use my mobile data connection and it never connects. Please help me out, what shall I do? I was thinking of sticking with the CM12 as it drains much less battery than the previous update.

In order to root my phone, I had to wipe data and factory reset it (because of reactivation lock issue). Before doing factory reset I forgot to move my data from private mode to normal mode.
After the factory reset and rooting the phone, when I am selecting private mode its asking me to set it up from start (which was obvious) but now I am not able to access the data(files/pictures) which I put in private mode before this factory reset.

Any ideas what can I do to access that missing data?

Hi, I am trying to swap mount points to increase internal memory on my device - HTC Legend.
I know that there is script for this purpose.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902395 .
As I can guess here we just use /sd-ext partition to swap it with /data. But in my case I have no /sd-ext partition at all, only /sdcard.
Of course I have no device /dev/block/mmcblk0p2.
About installed firmware - Android 2.3.7 ExtremeLegendFuse_2 based on CM7.
Output of mount command.

Thanks everyone in advance.

I just started a new data period and ATT says I already have used 1.15GB of data. According to my usage manager on my Samsung Galaxy S5, I have used 15.78MB. I have used the WiFi though.
What is happening and how can I fix it?

Hello Guys!
My icons mobile data always show the symbols H, E, 4g even with the data traffic being switched off. In addition, these symbols look a little scruffy in my view.

Does anyone have any solution?

Hi guys,
I wanted to update my Custom Android and did a TWRP backup before.
It required to do a factory reset and format data which I did.
After finishing everything up and installing the new ROM, I saw that all pictures stored in /storage/emulated/0/Pictures are gone.
There were all Screenshots and saved Snapchat files. Fortunately, the Camera pictures were saved on the SD-Card which I didn't formatted.

Since I am not able to undo "format data" (or can I somehow??), how am I getting to the path above? I tried Nandroid Manager and were able to load the backup but it seems that this path was not included in the backup...
I thought everything internal will be saved in a TWRP backup?

Does anyone know how to get on those files or are they completely gone?
I'm on a LG G3, bumped stock Rom (Lollipop 5.0), and TWRP 2.8.5.0.
Thanks!!

On phone entry is possible in recovery (3e) and download mode, but always stuck on formatting partitions /cache and / data, after a hard reset or after a flash using Odin, does it hardware problems or a problem with partitions!?

I'd like to try some custom ROMs and I'm looking to minimize my rebuild time. Can I just use SS and create a data backup zip and install it after I install the custom ROM?

I've been loving my HTC One M7 for a couple of years now so when my girlfriend's phone bit the bullet I got her one. She's not big on phones so there was no point in paying big bucks for an m8 or m9 so I got her the m7 on ebay. Marked as new and from the uk.

When the phone arrived she had no 4g but I didn't give it much thought as I thought it just might need to be updated and I was going to be rooting it putting on the latest firmware and putting on a custom rom anyway.

I've always loved the Android Revolution mods so I got to work. I checked the cid and thought it was 111 so I grabbed the firmware here - h%%p://xda7.androidrevolution.org/db_mirror/Firmware/index.php?dir=HTC%2FHTC_One%2F111%2F I then grabbed Android Revolution 91.1 for all the lollipop goodness. Flashed the firmware, flashed the rom, no issues. But when I booted up I had no 4g only H and with terrible terrible speed. I started digging around and realised my mistake. The phone was s-off and it had supercid - that was the 11111111 I saw. So I figured I had gone with an old firmware going with 111 so I went with the 7.19.401.2 in the 401 folder to get the most recent. Flashed it, no joy. So then I thought it might be a lollipop problem so I went with Android Revolution 84.0 and firmware 6.09.401.5 to have it the exact same as my own HTC One which has great 4g coverage. Flashed the firmware and the rom and I still have no joy. No 4g, and terrible terrible H speed.

I have gone into mobile data settings and they are the exact same as my own phone, i've checked *#*#4636#*#* and they are the same settings. I've popped my sim card into it and it's the same, no 4g, terrible terrible speed H. And I've popped her sim into my phone and it gets perfect 4g.

I've been googling since yesterday but couldn't dig up anything to fix it. Would be over the moon if anyone could tell me a fix or even something to try.

I couple of things:

Does the firmware used matter if the phone has supercid?
Could it be hardware related - i.e. is the phone buggered?

Hi all im working on a sound mod for z2/z3/z1 and I need the acdbdata in /system/etc from the latest, .28 firmware

I would be really thankful thanks :D I really need this, from

I have T-Mobile and the APN is set to the recommended settings found all over the internet. Roaming data worked just fine in Japan (Softbank and Docomo), but I dont have roaming data in the Philippines. Im currently in Metro Manila, connected to Smart, have a strong cell signal, but no data (! next to the bars). My sister has a LG G3 and she has data just fine. Is there a setting I need to change? Thanks.

I have a Sprint One M8 Harmon Kardon edition. I'm running a recent CM 12.1 build (updating doesn't help). I have no mobile data at all. I can't even enable it, the switch is grayed out in settings. I've tried restoring to the latest stock OS, wiping, reflashing CyanogenMod, flashing the RUU, running a firmware update, etc. I feel like I've tried everything, I really want to keep CM on my phone. Some have suggested to me that this my be an APN setting issue, but as this is a CDMA model the menu is not present to edit these settings. Does anyone know what my issue is or how I can check my APN settings?

Thanks.
