Hi
I bought an S3 cheap that has no IMEI just to use it as a flight instrument (variometer) because of the built in barometric sensor. My problem is, that even it doesn't have a sim card inserted, cell standby still draws huge amount of juice from the battery. It is like 85% of the battery usage. In battery stats it shows the red bar signalling that it has no cell coverage, but still looking for it. I even put it in airplane mode but to no avail. How could I get rid of the cellular function of the phone for good ? I would even open up the phone and cut wires if needed. :) I am rooted.

Thanks!

I've had this phone for nearly a year and despite not being able to do more such as running an AOSP-based ROM, I've been fairly happy with it until recently as I'm barely able to get any battery life out of this phone! I am lucky to get 6 hours!

A few months ago I had an issue with battery life when I decided to try Lollipop (OA8 at the time). I had significant battery drain along with the usual issues that have been reported. So I decided to ODIN back to, at that time, KitKiat NI2. The battery drain followed, despite having completely wiping the phone along with completely downgrading the phone.

I decided, as a last ditch effort, to ODIN all the way back to NCG and allow the OTAs to update the phone, which worked beautifully and give me back the normal 24+ hour battery life I initially started with. Well, after having some sluggishness I did a standard wipe, just wiping the data and cache, leaving system untouched. The horrible battery life has returned!

I have tried on numerous occasions to ODIN back to NCG and OTAs, multiple wipes, run without any 3rd-party apps, no accounts assigned, without any luck whatsoever!

According to Wake Lock Detector the phone is refusing to sleep. What bothers mie is that it'll say an app is causing it, so I delete it. Then another app will take its place as top of the list. Again, I remove it only to find yet another app to the top until Android System is the top.

I currently have a brand new Samsung battery installed which made absolutely no difference. I also have reinstalled my apps, stuck with KitKat NK2, and rooted. Never have I restored any data with Titanium Backup, system or user in any way.

Could there be something hardware-related causing this? Anyone else have this problem? Verizon doesn't seem to want to help me other than giving me the standard scripts. Sadly I can't switch carriers, either. TMO would be my choice but sadly they have no coverage in my area (I tried!)

Hello everyone!

I have a situation here ... I have quite massive battery drain from Google Play Services on my HTC One M9. I check with my gf Samsung Galaxy S6 and her G play services were about 1%. My were almost 50%... The only difference is I use LG G Watch R paired to my phone but I tried disconnecting it and still same... I use Google Fit and also tried disabling it but not much of a difference. There was about 10% less of drain when I put my location on battery save. But it is still over the ruff with that drain. My device is not rooted so I can't check battery wakes ... I kinda don't know what to do any more. Has any one had problem like this and how did you solve it?

I am thankful for any responses or ideas. (Sorry for bad English)

So I recently encountered a problem with my phone charging. Previously, I am able to charge while chatting via Whatsapp etc. but after playing a game my phone heated up so I turned it off to cool it down. Now my phone will not sustain a charge if the wifi is turned on and left alone. I had used a new battery and charger but the problem persists.

Did I just kill my phone power management capability?
