Q1: How can I tell if I have a Motorola Droid X2?
  • 1. Check in the battery compartment, under battery, on the label, Model is in the middle of top line, the Droid X2 is model MB870.

  • 2. In the software Menu>settings>about Phone>system version will include MB870.Verizon.en.US


Q2: What is the newest Stock Android Version and System Version?
  • Current Stock Android Version is 2.3.4 (Gingerbread).

  • Current System Version is 1.3.418.MB870.Verizon.en.US


Q3: Where are the Custom Bootloaders, Recoveries, and Kernels?
Because of the Locked bootloader, the stock bootloader cannot be unlocked and Stock recovery can not be replaced, to use a custom recovery a Bootstrap app is used to Hijack the boot process. See

Rooting gives you access to system files, that are restricted by default in android. See

Q6: How do I restore the stock rom?
IF phone can be booted to bootloader and battery has enough charge, Stock Firmware(SBF) should be able to be re-flashed as long as the is no hardware failure. There are 3 methods to flash SBF/Firmware.

Yes, to skip activation, use 4 corners method or Boot Android {No BP}
  • Boot Android {No BP}: Power on phone holding volume down, when you see fast boot keep taping volume down till you see "Boot Android {No BP}" and press volume up.
    It will boot you into Google Setup....just click the green guy then select the "skip" option for the rest of the setup. When you get to the location service consent section with the 3 options just don't select any and you will boot to the regular homescreen with no service.

On May 28, Verizon will offer its customers the Motorola Droid Turbo in a Grey Ballistic Nylon color along with their choice of three metallic accent colors. You'll have your choice of Blue, Orange or Violet accents for the camera ring, DROID logo, volume rocker and power buttons.

The accents will affect the color of the DROID logo and the ring around the camera unit. The original DROID Turbo with Ballistic Nylon was in Black color along with Metallic Red accents.



Featuring a 5.2-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, powered by a 3900 mAh battery, the Droid Turbo is a great smartphone. Currently the device runs Lollipop 5.0.2 (that is incorrect, still 4.4.4), but reports suggest that the device will be receiving Android 5.1 as the next major update.

Verizon currently sells the 32GB Ballistic Nylon Droid Turbo for on contract, or .83 a month when using Verizon's Edge program. The full retail price of the device sits at 9, for those looking to avoid a contract.

These color options are limited edition, so if you are interested you will want to pick one up sooner than later.






I haven't picked up my old Droid Maxx in quite a while, so maybe I'm remembering incorrectly, but wasn't the back plate on it fairly flat? You could lay it on the table and it wouldn't rock the way an HTC One or the new Moto X phones do, correct?

Mine has a definite curve to the backplate, with the most curve just below the camera where the word Droid is written, and it rocks side to side quite a bit.

Is my memory faulty, is that normal? I'm afraid it might be the battery is swelling up. I recently had an HTC One M7 battery swell and bust the phone, so I may be a bit paranoid.
