Hi, so I have a phone and it's not standard android based. It has no preview for selecting sounds.
It's lenovo and it has it's own private theme center which doesn't allow outside sound files.

So I was wondering does anyone have a link to an apk which will allow me to preview sound clips when I am selecting them from the choose ringtone menus. I have ES Explorer and it only allows me to select files, but not preview them.

Because the internet is so vast I am not sure what an effective search term would be to give me the results I need.
I've tried and I've ended up with ringtones you can download, how to delete the stock ringtones, issues with them not responding etc.

Dear Xda fellows,

For a while i have been using a sim-modded photon Q (thanks to CornholioGSM)

The problem i have is that everytime i restart my phone or lose signal for a moment i get a voicemail notification,
It states the following: "new voice mail (255) voice mail number unknown"
I have tried to change the voice mail number in the voice mail options under dialer settings but it refuses with the following error (translated from dutch):

"Cannot change voice mail number, contact your provider if this problem persists"

I have tried looking at visual voice mail apps to take over the voice mail service with no success.
I had this problem with a Carbonrom 4.4.4 ROM and it still haunts me on the latest Cyanogenmod 12.1 nightly.

Does anyone know a fix or workaround?

It sounds like a stock sound but I can't remember what its called: 58s in

I've had my G3 for a couple months now, came from the G2. Love the phone but as far as I can tell its always had this issue. Sorry I root, and ROM my phones almost immediately, although i waited about a week with this one since my computer was down (gotta have access to Flashtool just in case). Anyways I wanna say this was an issue stock also but i may be mistaken. Im currently running Dirty Unicorns Official 9.2 and it seems that anytime I get a text, or any other notification the volume level increases itself beyond 11. I stream music all day while at work with a bluetooth headphones and I'm now deaf in my right ear. I've tried installing Volume boost controls to see if that was the issue, i've poked thru all the settings. But i cant find anything at all that could be cranking the volume up like im at a Pantera concert standing 5 inches from the largest speaker in the house.
But heres another tidbit, if i hit pause, then play again the volume goes back to normal...until i get another notification

So has anyone else had this kinda issue? I'd post this in the Rom thread but like i said I cant be positive its from the ROM, i wanna say it did it when stock too.

Hi.

I have a Sprint M8 but live in the UK.
I have been using custom rom since last October and I enjoyed them.
Yesterday I backup all my data with Titanium Backup and then upgraded the correct firmware to android 5.0 Lollipop. Afterwards I installed the InsertCoin Rom Sense 7.

Everything is fine before I restored those data from Titanium Backup.
After I restored system data and reboot into the system, it seems to be OK. But after several seconds, a notification pop-up, saying:
Service Update:
The operation is not allowed under GSM network, please switch to CDMA network.

I can only click OK and then it seems normal.
But the problem is every time I reboot the phone, this notification appears. It is really annoying. I am wondering if there is any way to permanently disable it?

I have been using InsertCoin and ViperOne rom on this phone before, and it works very well with Titanium Backup. Previousl, this notification did not appear after I restore data with Titanium Backup.

I'm on Caulkin's 3.1 (12S), and I can go into the notification area when a notification shows, and long press the specific notification, and select the far right icon which takes me to the app notification setting. I can turn off the notification for that specific app, and that will last until I reboot.

Please, how can I make those changes last through reboots?

Hi pplz,

I'm currently on s.ROM but this problem has occurred in prior tried ROMs too.

I seem to get no notification for wechat incoming msg and even incoming voice or video calls. I only know this because friends have notified me and waiting for a reply via WhatsApp. I then proceed to open Wechat and behold I see multiple msgs waiting and the odd call missed.
I check to see if Wechat is running apps almost every time I reboot and it is with its services running. So what's the problem here?

I also get a similar problem with google play app update notifications... They never appear until I open Google play itself and look in My apps or when I reboot the phone then the notifications I get after the system has loaded.

So is this a problem with the app/gcm services they use? As WhatsApp and telegram runs perfectly.

I Xposed running with boot manager, greenify and amplify, but I have not selected any of these apps to touch the msging or google play apps.

I had the same problem prior to using Xposed FYI.

Any suggestion on what I could do? Or diagnose the problem.

Tks in advance.

Is there any way to use bottom led bar for notifications on our device?

Hi guys.. To who miss one notification led to our phone is possible use the buttons led as this functionality... Just install via app market the LG Notifications app (last update bring MTK 65xx SoC compatibility) ;D

Sent from my VIVO AIR using XDA Forums PRO

Hi guys. Since I updated to LP .28 I have been having trouble with notifications, I don't get any notifications until I turn on the screen. I have STAMINA Mode enabled but I already added Whatsapp and FB to the exception list, and also, it doesn't matter if Queue Background Data is on or off, I still don't get notification which is very very annoying. I really don't want to wipe my ROM, as I have a lot of mods and stuff. Do you have the same issue?

For some reason my notification light has been flashing green for a few days now. Rebooted, read all notificatons, everything.

It's the Alarm.

FIX:
Disable the alarm. Turn screen off. Wait for it to stop. Turn alarm back on.

I am specifically using stock rooted Verizon 39A Lollipop. No Xposed or notification apps. It could a bug on other lollipop builds. I am not sure what causes it to get stuck and doesn't always happen. Just a public service announcement.

Hey, whenever I flick my wrist to turn on the screen it says "Ok Google" in small letters. How can I turn this off? I know that I can say Ok Google so the text doesn't help me, and it just makes the watch face cluttered.

Thanks!

guys my z2 speaker grill had dust accumulated over time as a result the led notification light has become very dim and dull looking. is there any way to clean the speaker grill without damaging,

Basically, some people get a notification that says google play services needs an update (5.0 and above), but it won't update.
Fix:
Go to Settings --> Under personal, Apps --> Switch to the "All" tab --> Find google play services, then tap on it --> Find, and uncheck "Show notifications"

This should work, as I haven't had it, even on reboot.

This is also much easier than doing a factory reset (obviously).

Help! I have a D800 and I woke up in the middle of the night to a blinding light coming from the phone's LED. It's fading to blue from green and then back and its not stopping. There was a amber alert which I've since deleted but the light is not stopping. I've turned off notifications for amber alerts and turned off the LED entirely but it's still not stopping. I have rebooted the phone 3 times. There are no notifications whatsoever now but regardless if the screen is off or not the light is constantly flashing. I called att and of course they have no clue.

Does anyone have any ideas?
