So I've tried all the ROMs, I've tried Stock (When I first got the phone) I then tried CM12.1, then FlexOS, then back to CM, then BlissPop, then back to CM, then Cloudy's ROM, then Back to c-... you get the idea.

I looked in to trying to compile my own kernel, because frankly there isn't an updated d855 CM12.1 kernel to be seen anywhere that has features to make CM the least bit smooth and I decided that with my coursework becoming a bigger part of my life that I would simply have no time to put in the work (Or the knowledge).

So what I'm asking is simple, can someone please compile a custom kernel for cm12.1? I love this ROM, the lack of customization features is a feature in itself for me considering I love AOSP, CM is perfect for my usage but I just need a custom kernel so that it can be complimented and optimized for the G3, thanks.

So, the charger for my old touchpad has the longest cord, and twist to lock is great..

But I've noticed that my phones all charge ridiculously fast on that charger (40 minutes from dead to 100% in most cases) and I'm wondering if maybe it's being detected as a quick charge plug? On stock, I didn't get the slow charging notification, and I don't get it on Viper or Bad Boyz either.

Does anyone know what it takes to NOT trigger the notification? Is it a certain pin out? I'd assume not, since you can use any cable with the Qualcomm wall wart.. Is it a specific voltage? Amperage? I know this charger is 2A, 3.5V and from what I can find on the Qualcomm specs is that a charger needs to be capable of 1.5A, 5V for quick charge certification, which puts my charger still 1.5V shy.

So why does my m9 charge to full in about 55 minutes, vs a few hours on stock, and NOT trigger slow charge notification when it's (afaik) not quick charge?

Can someone else with a stock touchpad charger that gets the slow charge notification test this out for me? If it turns out this is basically an uncertified quick charger purely by virtue of coming out before QC, that would give us an option for QC on the cheap!

Hi all,

I'm thinking of buying a Fire TV but before I do I was wondering if someone could quickly try something for me. I'm totally blind & all my devices (phones, tablets, laptops etc) talk to me - if they didn't I wouldn't be able to use them. Most versions of Android come with a screen reader called Talkback but my research suggests that the Fire TV doesn't.
I was wondering if someone would be able to attempt to install Talkback and let me know what happens? Unfortunately I can't post the link but you should be able to find it by searching for Talkback. NB: the description on its page says that you will need to enable Talkback in settings so if it doesn't start talking once installed this may be why.
If you do manage to get it installed, I'd be interested in hearing how much speech you get when trying to use some of the stock apps so that I can work out if I'll be able to use it or not. A quick video / audio file of you doing a few things with it talking would be absolutely amazing but no worries if not.

Any help with this would be very much appreciated; if it can't be made to talk I simply won't be able to use it so I don't really want to buy it only to end up returning it shortly after. Sorry if this is a bit of a newbe type question - the only Android experience I've had was on an old Nexus 7 a couple of years ago so I have a lot to learn.

Cheers,
Ben.

I know it's not turned off out of the box. It was set to punchy or something like that.

On CM12.1 it's turned off though, and the speakers sound like trash, so I'm trying to match the stock ROM's output quality.

I found some rom look like lollipop but its kitkat

Okay, for a bit of background information I among many others have a Galaxy S6 and am currently experiencing a crippled hotword detection from Ok Google.

It only works in the app and where the widget is on a home screen. It does not work when it is off or in a different APP.

I am hoping someone who is rooted and has the same problem can temporarily adjust their build prop under the model and change it to Nexus 5 or SM-N910F and see if that restores the functionality of the google hotword detections under the settings.

When you go to the google search application, go to settings, click on voice, click on "Ok Google" detection, there should be multiple options here, not just "From the Google App". A reboot and maybe even a re-install of the google search apk may be required to properly test this. Either way, let me know. Thank you.
