I'm not new to rooting, bootloaders, and ROMs, but I am new to the G3. My current phone is a Nexus 4 on Cricket (AT&T), so of course everything ROM related couldn't be easier. I figure the G3 will be "harder" by virtue of it not being a Nexus device. My D850 will be here in a couple of days and I want to hit the ground running with a root and bootloader unlock. After poking around, I thought it would be easier to ask the community where to start and what steps to take.

1.) Root: I see that Stump is no longer supported; will it still work or is it because LG has patched the exploit? If the latter, is there an alternative root method you recommend?
2.) Unlocking the bootloader: I see Bump! Is this a "true" unlock (ie. I can install any AT&T ROM variant) or do I have to use specific Bump ROMs after installing TWRP? Is there any other (better) options?
3.) ROMs: I assume you can only use AT&T ROMs on an AT&T G3 variant (mine's the D850) due to the specific radios. Any known issues with using the D850 on Cricket?
4.) Any thing else I should know about ROMming for the G3? In terms of flexibility, I've been spoiled with the N4, but I'm looking forward to the hardware awesomeness that is the G3!

This is something different happening with my panasonic p41. Whenever i listen to a song in which there are words starting with s, i get a screeching sound on those words. Does anyone know why is this happening? And what is the solution?

I have been running Android Revolution on my AT&T HTC One (M8) for several months without any issues. Late last week my phone started randomly exhibiting some strange behavior. The most problematic is the fact that certain apps cannot establish their required connections. This problem did not exist prior to either Thursday or Friday of last week (5/14). It is possible that this was caused by an update, but I have no idea which one or how to check what was updated on a specified date.

As for the problem itself, my best guess is that a specific port (like 443) or type of traffic is somehow being blocked. However, I don't know how to troubleshoot to determine what specific traffic is being blocked or what is blocking it. The issue exists over wi-fi and mobile data. Everything else connects fine. Apps like Facebook, DI Radio, Chrome, IMDB... all function normal. The apps that I have discovered won't connect are:

PayPal
Pandora
Twitter / TweetCaster
AmEx Serve
Swype + Dragon / Nuance (voice recognition)

I have been searching and haven't found anything close to a solution or guidance. If anyone has any ideas on what is causing this, or even how I can troubleshoot to find out more detail about what's happening I would really appreciate the help.
