i am new to xdadevelopers and this is my first post. I hope im doing everything right!

Im working on a university project where i need to build two android kiosk devices. The devices im using are called "MID-U705B", those are cheap chinese tablets. To achieve a kiosk mode i update the build.prop file. Everything worked fine a few time, i could enable and disable the systemui like i wanted. Unfortunately when i update the build.prop again yesterday i must have made some mistake, because the device got into a bootlop. Even after restoring the old build.prop the error persists.

I cannot simply flash back the stock rom because i dont have it.
So my question is: Is it somehow possible to clone the rom from the identical other device to the broken one?

I am very happy for any help or advice!

Hi guys,

I've been trying to root an Asus TF103C K010 with build number EDU_NA-3.2.36.44 without luck. Here are the approaches that I thought could work in theory, but didn't end up working:

1. Rooting via RootZenFone-1.4.6.4r.apk - This app rooting method works with builds that has the Asus Demo program. However, the EDU_NA build doesn't come with the Demo program, so this approach didn't work. I couldn't install the Asus Demo program onto the EDU_NA either.

2. I tried switching the build SKU from EDU_NA to WW via adb sideload of the WW firmware in Recovery mode (the tablet wouldn't allow loading from SD card in Recovery mode). However, I wasn't successful in that approach either. The tablet kept producing the following error:

"Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:end of footer from /tmp/update.zip not 0xFFFF (file exists)
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted."

As some posts alluded to, I tried to rename the firmware file from WW to EDU_NA to "trick" the tablet thinking that it's a EDU_NA update zip file. That didn't work either.

Anyone with success on rooting this build? Thanks!

Hi, I'm busy trying to repair a tablet moonar quadcore a33. I have another identical which have made a backup with a tutorial of this forum, but following the same tutorial I can not mount an image flasheable phoenixcard.no is whether this is the right place to post this, if not so ask and please apologize if some moderator can move I appreciate. I leave the link to the backup and a ROM that if I get loaded as is, but to make the modifications mentioned in the post, do not load from the card. a greeting and thanks in advance.

Weeks ago I was on their website and saw, that it is already available for a long time. Buddy who has a Z3 Tablet mentioned last month he got his update, but my Tablet and the PC Companion software tell me everytime that my Tablet is up to date!

Last time I thought I had a great idea, I went for the kinda repair-y option you can choose in PC Companion, where the software downloads the current Android system, wipes your device and installs the newest Android. Of course I backed up my apps before that with PC Companion.

What was the result?!

I still got Build 230.1.A4.30


And thanks to that experiment I had a lot of things to reconfigure, that I configured perfectly to my needs over the months. If my Tablet was rooted, I would have just used TitaniumBackup or the likes and not trusted the PC Companion...


What gives?!? Do I now only have the option to finally root my Tablet and use only custom roms? And that after not even a year of owning it?!

I have a Z3 Tablet Compact that I preordered. So I have been using it since it was launched.

The tablet is very good in almost every way. The software is very smooth, the design is nice and it's impressively thin.
I also very much appreciate the battery life. With normal usage I get about 7-8 hours of screen on time.

BUT, the digitizer is driving me mad. Too often it just doesn't know when I want to "click" something and when I'm just trying to scroll.
I frequently click something and it just doesn't record it. So I click it again, no big deal. It's the scrolling that's really getting to me.
If I, for instance, try to browse the frontpage of The Guardians mobile site, I find myself accidentally clicking on about four different links before I get to the bottom of the page.
Because of this I have to be extremely careful and try to use the absolute edge of the page for scrolling.
Today I visited a site where I seriously couldn't get past one section of the page. It consisted of large pictures and text covering the full width of the page. These were all links. Every time I tried to scroll it assumed I wanted to click on the picture. I had to give up. That really annoyed me.

Sites or apps with lots of videos grouped together (Youtube for instance) have the same problem.
I have tried changing the value for "Touch & Hold Delay" under Settings>Accessibility as someone suggested on another site. This did not help.

Does your tablets have this issue? Should I demand that they replace it?
Is there maybe an app that you can use to alter the sensitivity of the touch input?

I have or have owned several other android devices and none of them suffer from this problem.
