So recently I've been trying to upgrade my Unlocked Verizon Galaxy S4 from 4.4.2 to lollipop. So because it's unlocked i can't upgrade ota so I have to use either kies or the verizon updater. Everytime I use the verizon updater it crashes when it's done downloading the files onto my pc, and whenever I use kies it gets to 69% and then previews and error that says that an error occurred and can't download the files. Can anyone provide me with a solution to the kies problem since I'd much rather use that program.

Noticing a lot of parallels with this phone and the LG G2/G3. Particularly in design. I've had a lot of different phones over the past year (One M8 GPE, OPO, MotoX, Nexus 5), and I keep going back to my G2. I really love this phone, the form factor, feel, and the volume on the back, it's just such an awesome phone. So when I saw this new offering by Asus it kind of peaked my interest.

A bit on the fence though. Immediately I saw one thing I'm not too thrilled about... fat bottom bezel. Would much rather had a shorter phone with onscreen navigation. That issue aside, few questions/concerns, and any input is appreciated....

- Does Android really dramatically benefit from 4GB of memory yet? or is this more of a future proof measure?

- Atom Z3580 vs Snapdragon 800. I honestly have little to no issue with my G2, for a phone that is 2 years old, the processor holds up rather nicely. I don't know a whole lot about Atom as a mobile platform, but is this comparable or better? Same concern with the GPU, PowerVR vs Adreno... I've always been under the impression PowerVR is pretty dodgy.

- Camera is somewhat important to me. I've read mixed reviews on the Toshiba sensor in it. The G2 isn't too shabby tbh, however, I noticed the Zenfone has a much wider aperture (f2.0 vs f2.4), and the FFC is also 5MP vs the 2.1MP on the G2. Can't seem to find any definitive answer on if the Zenfone has OIS, does anyone know for certain? Opinions on the camera??

Huge selling points for me is the SD card and dual SIM, two things the G2 doesn't have. Anyone else in the same boat, debating if it's worth upgrading from a G2?

That's basically it. Do they make a decent pair of cheap external battery packs for it and is it better handling all that ram . My m8 here gets sluggish nowadays. Thanks.

I noticed that my phone got to much warm as i used 4G on it after update to lollipop official. Also phone performance getting slow as i use FB for a while.
What is the solution for it ? is it compulsory to factory reset on every software update?

I am on asop 5.1.1 with twrp and rooted. I want to install stock 5.1.1, root it and install twrp. Also I want to start clean and restore my backup from titanium. Are these steps correct :

My Nexus 7 (2013) Wifi+3G tablet has had a notification for me to update to 5.0.2 from 4.4.3 for several months now, and I've tried to upgrade it for quite a while....but it won't allow me to do it. It does have root, using TWRP as my recovery, but that's all I've done to it.

In fact, when it does the reboot, it comes up with this:



Does anyone know why it does this? How I can fix this, short of manually sideloading 5.0.2?

My beats solo 2 headphone used to work correctly before upgrading to lollipop but after upgrade via recovery phone does recognize them, even after reset factory problem exist, if i use soundabout app and choose headset with mic it works great, but every time i have to switch from speaker to headphone,is there any way to solve this problem?by the way my sony earphone works correct

i tried to take my galaxy note 8 to an older version(JB) because i was facing some problem with the kitakt 4.4.2.
I downloaded the software from sam mobile and when i startEDd the process with odin and when t finished it didnt work .
After that i tried putting the Kitkat again but the process in odin says ODIN FAIL!
And this comes on the screen "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies and try again"

My wife's first smart phone was the OG Moto X, she loved it so decided to upgrade her this week.

Got the 64gb wood back 2014 model.
I already got her the tempered glass but I'm so confused on what to do with the case.
Obviously I don't want to civet that gorgeous back but I don't see any good clear cases.. Or should I just go with a bumper? She has been known to be a little clumsy, plus we have toddlers so I don't want anything too flimsy.

Hope someone a bit more clued up than myself can clarify my questions or guide me..
I've done some searching, but am not 100% confident.

So, I have a I9305 running a Boeffla Kernel 5.2. If I recall correctly, I upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.3, but
kept my old bootloader. So I am rooted and have TWRP on this 4.3 based CFW. No KNOX anywhere.
(Did all this about 12 months ago or more, and have had some significant life events in the last year,
so have been completely out of the scene.. :( )

I've had a few issues with this CFW. Namely battery drain relating to "mdm_hsic_pm0" and a couple of
other kernel wakelocks, a camera driver that freezes the app every so often, and less than spectacular
modem connections.. But I digress..
Anyway, I was considering upgrading to 4.4.4 (stock)
Can anyone tell me if I can do this and remain Knox free and have a custom recovery such as TWRP.
(If so can you point me to a working guide?)

I have to ask this, I have searched for days and days over, buThe all in vain :(
I want to upgrade to lollipop, but it seems as if I can not do that. So to either douse the my passionate flames, or to spice them up a little, I would like to ask you all;
Is there, or will there be any upgrades for Xperia M2 Aqua? They can be something like AOSP.
Also, I would like to ask one more thing;
Would it be possible for someone, if they have a working build on his/her phone, to possibly upload it or share it? It would make my day! :D

Title says all. Using the Edge program to upgrade early and want to make sure the phone is completely stock when I ship it back to VZW. I saw this thread but it appears to be a bit out of date.
