Hi -

I know there's been threads discussing various charging cables and blocks, but let describe 2 problems I've had with ones I've gotten, and I would very much appreciate anyone that has some good advice on this:
1) The micro side of the connecter keeps getting crappy, and over a short period of time, I have to hold the phone in a certain spot to keep it connected (dunno if I can do anything about this).
1b) Is it possible to put on new micro plugs? I have no problems soldering, using shrink tubing, etc., etc. if it wasn't a big deal to just replace those instead of the whole cable.
2) Out of all the cables and charging blocks I've tried, I seem to have the best luck with a Mediabridge cable from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1. When working, and used with an OEM Samsung charging block, using the Galaxy Charging Current app, I get 1900 mA across the board (Reference, Maximum, Average). This compares to 1200/1900/1200 with the OEM block and cable.

I keep about 5 of the mediabridge cables around various places in my house, but it always seems like I'm buying 1 or 2 new ones every couple months.

So does there happen to be another cable that's more sturdy, and perhaps gets me a better charging rate (unsure if 1900 is about is high as I'll see)? And are there other charging blocks that supposedly work just as well or better then the OEM white Samsung one?

I know this may sound petty but I have to ask.

Gotnmy vzw n6 today and when I plug in the charging port it fits snug but if I press on the cable or pull it to the right it clicks almost as if it has a break away feature. Does anyone else's do this? It also does it with my ps4 micro cable.

Using the app Ampere which detects charging rates of different USB cables, I found that Motorola USB cables give a consistent 590mA charging rate.

I bought some Anker USB cables which look and feel very durable, and they also give a maximum of 600mA BUT.....it does start to vary and it's not consistent. At times, the rate will go all the way down to 320mA and rise up to 590mA or it'll just decrease to 570mA and again go back up to 590mA or 600mA. It's not as consistent as the Motorola USB cable. As I'm typing this out, it went down to 330mA and now it's just been ranging in the 420-450mA for the past couple of minutes.

So has anyone found any other alternative cables and maybe used the Ampere app to check their charging rate?

i have an otg cable and i used to print through it with my galaxy s4
but on my galaxy s5 its not detecting a printer (every thing else does work) i also did try using the usb 3.0 otg with no success
i did try it on my galaxy s6 and also just the printer not working with the otg cable

if you can help
how can i make galaxy s5 / s6 edge print with the otg cable
