True Stereo
For Samsung Galaxy S4
I use this mod for a while now and I think that people aren't familiar with this mod on the S4.
This mod enables the front facing speaker to create true stereo.
It applies when:
You play sound from the speakers
You are calling in speaker mode
I am not responsible of any broken speakers, use it at your own risk. Please do not use a sound increaser when you use this mod (applies to v1.0 and v1.1, the front speaker has reached the max it can handle with a little marge, 75% is the absolute max)
Supported devices (please post if it works on your device):
GT-I9505 (Tested on Carbon Rom 4.4.2, 4.4.4, Antaresone CM12, CM12.1)
FAQ:
Q: How do I know if this mod will work and not break my audio?
A (quick): Test it and you will hear if it works.
A (full): If your device has a file named "snd_soc_msm_2x_Fusion3" in this path "/system/etc/snd_soc_msm", it will propably work.
Back up that file, just to be sure and then flash this mod.
Q: Why is the front speaker louder/softer?
A: Because the front speaker has a different level-system compared to the back speaker. It has a lower range, so it can be configured as a "silent", "normal" or "loud" speaker.
I didn't figure out yet how to edit the level-system of the front speaker. As soon as I figure it out, there will probably be a couple of versions before the final version (it needs tweaking for optimal usage).
For now, just use the following pre-sets that are available:
True Stereo V1.0:
Back Speaker: 60.0%
Front Speaker: 72.5%
Great for high volume
True Stereo V1.1:
Back Speaker: 63.0% (default)
Front Speaker: 72.5%
Great for medium-high volume
True Stereo v1.2:
Back Speaker: 63.0% (default)
Front Speaker: 67.5%
Great for low volume
True Stereo v1.3:
Back Speaker: 60.0%
Front Speaker: 67.5%
