Okay , Having owned the MotoG 4G /LTE Since purchase ( XT1039 ) ,in UK . I am now unable to complete any download using My Cellular network provider . I have a feeling it is due to the network provider rather than the phone
When purchased new the phone was locked to Tesco's UK Mobile network . This was unlocked for use with all UK networks using a code from Ebay
Once the phone was unlocked , it was rooted . Since then it has performed reasonably well but actually downloading anything has been hit or miss . It has only ever been used with a Virgin Sim Card on an unlimited plan (3G) . ( Virgin in UK uses EE network )
Download speeds , according to several speed apps is allays ample with around 8Mbps on average .Even now , and since first use , this download speed has been consistent when measuring with an app.
I have since ownership downloaded dozens of APK's , Images and other media files without not much problem , even with low speed - downloads historically had finished . However there has been an persistent drop of speed when downloading anything , over a period of 6 months . Now downloads are failing , coming to complete halt . When I use Play store , for example it starts downloading and gets to about 40% and seemingly never finished to download - it will never finish even if left for days .
Now I am forced to use Wifi if I am downloading anything . :eek:
At this stage I suspect Virgin is throttling the data flow . However I wanted to ask and hear from anyone who has experienced this . Or just wanted peoples thoughts on this challenge
