Long time xda lurker here,
I have just thrown my t mobile note 3 into an autostarting bootloop that i dont know how to recover from. I have successfully used this same process 4 times on 4 devices, S 3, tab 2,galaxy light and lg volt. Although this time i used mobile odin as the flash tool.
I flashed twrp to the note 3 because it didnt have any recovery at all. Ive had this phone rooted for about a year without a recovery. After flashing twrp now it constantly autostarts to the logo screen and in top left corner it says recovery booting then it restarts with the same result. Ive tried leaving the battery out for an hour but when i reinsert it, i dont even have to push power and it starts bootlooping again. I cant get in download mode, safe mode, recovery mode, anything mode. Im at a loss. Any advice, any at would be appreciated. Is there any way to fix this.

If I'm stock unlocked and rooted and encrypted and flash a ROM like euphoria which is unencrypted will my phone be unencrypted or do I have to unencrypt first

Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app

I've recently flashed the stock rom for my Xperia V as described below for locked bootloader.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2796554

Since then I face problems with the display/phone acting weirdly . About twice a day I can't turn the display back on (display unlock). In this state the phone actually freezes somehow. One strange exampled I've seen today: I received a mail message, with the set signal sound and notification LED. I wanted to check the message but couldn't turn on the display. So I checked if I can call myself with another phone but the mailbox turned on immediately. The notification LED was still active so I'm not sure if the phone actually freezed or not. The only thing I can do at this state is to remove the battery and restart the phone.
Another problem I've since flashing the rom is that when I start a call is that the display turns off immediately no matter if I place my finger/face over the proximity sensor or not. Funny thing is that the call can be held as usual, but after that I'm not able to hold the call as the display won't turn on until the call partner ends it. When he has ended the call the display turns back on. Right now I really don't know what to do.

Here is the history how the problem started:
- dropped phone on floor and display broke
- exchanged display
- I've had installed Xposed installer on external SD card and modified some things on the launcher. While I was waiting for the new display I've used the SD card in a different phone. This has somehow messed with the Xposed settings I assume.
- After I booted my phone with the new display in place and external SD inserted the UI crashed all the time and the launcher won't come back. So I've restored the system with the androids included function.
- This is where I first saw the above described problem.
- I've tried a different, modded rom. With this the display problem didn't occur but the battery performance was really bad.
- Installed stock rom from link above. Now problem with display present again. So maybe there is an issue with the original 4.3 rom?

Has anybody experienced the same issues as I do right now? I really don't know what to do but the problems really annoy me.

Thanks!

Ages ago because i was impatientto update my phone so i flashed the Polish Stock using Odin, since then i have used Odin to flash the UK Stock, though when i wipe and reset the phone it still initially comes up with the polish language, (not a massive issue i know but i want to get UK OTA if it ever comes) also if i go to sell the phone at the end of this year when the Note5 is out im sure the new owner would want to turn it on and see english.

Ive tried
Clearing the EFS cache and resetting the phone from recovery before and after flashing BTU
I made sure reactivation lock was off as I wondered if that would cause an issue though that hasn't helped. does anyone have any other ideas?

Im un-routed as i sometimes use my phone to test out corporate BYOD so cant root of flash a custom rom.

thanks all for any help.

Hello, resiliently I bought refurbished LG G2 that claimed to be a D802 version. I disassemble my phone and find out that inside is D800 motherboard.

After the Lollipop update phones touchscreen is unusable and it do not read SIM cards.

So I found solution
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...8&postcount=75

So can I flash D802 lollipop and then D800 KK kernel?
What tools should I use to do it? KDZ or CWM recovery or something else?

I flashed and older pre-root image and then ended up updating the SuperSu app and su binary.
Can I update to the newer firmware simply by flashing the new pre-rooted image? I don't want to loose all my data in the process.

Hey everyone,

It's been a long time since I've flashed my HD2, and I just picked it back up to see about a new ROM. The problem I'm having is finding all the current programs needed, as many ROM threads are older now. I have MAGLR 1.13, CWM 5.0.2.6, and Android 2.3.7 currently on the phone

I have seen a lot about 4EXT, a minitool partition, and nativeSD. I want to install [Q&A/T][JB4.3.1][ SLIM ROM Build 2][Unofficial][Source Compiled]

I tried installing 4EXT through the app, but it recognizes the phone as HTC Desire. After that I feel like I am going in circles reading outdated stuff. Does anyone have a current guide to getting the programs that I need to flash these latest ROMs on the Leo?

Thanks in advance to anyone still hanging around!

Greg

Hello, XDA members! I am in dire need of help. I recently factory reset my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (US Cellular, had Android 5.0). Because my phone was flashed to Pageplus and I reset it, I am not able to make any sort of calls. Now here's the problem: When I went to Pageplus to flash my phone, they said they are not able to "speak" to the phone because of there not being a way to flash Android 5.0 phones (That surprised me). I'm just an ordinary consumer, so I do not have a lot of knowledge about tech. I was hoping you guys could help me. Thanks.

P.S. I hope this is the correct place to post this in the forums.

i have installed cm12 and the internat (3g) is really bad
i understand i need to flash a modem
can someone send me a link
(im new and i dont understand a lot so please keep it simple)

Hi,
I am currently running the 5.1 version of the Digital High GPE rom and would like to flash the stock kernel. I looked some on htcdev but all I found was the kernel source. Is there any place that I can find a flashable zip that will install the stock kernel? Thanks!

This is a guide for XPERIA ACRO S (other xperia users can also reffer needed information)

I make this guide for noobs as there weren't such guide (even for my first time of flashing ROM I didn't get any such guide, so I decided to make one)

This Guide is especially for flashing BPaul's 5.1.1 ROM

So here Iam giving detail process to install Bpauls 5.1.1 with every links needed.

we are going to take below steps;

1. unlocking bootloader
2. flashing kernel with recoveries
3. backing up stock rom
4. installing bpauls 5.1.1

Special Thanks;

@BPaul (for awesome ROM)
@cobrato (for stock kernel)
@jajb (for gapps)

NOTE: I'AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DAMAGED YOUR PHONE BY CROSS FLASHING OTHER ROMS,KERNELS ETC.
BELOW PROCESS IS SUCCESSFULLY CARRIED ON XPERIA ACRO S. AS NOOBS CAN MAKE MANY MISTAKES
I'AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR DAMAGE. -DO AT YOUR OWN RISK-

-Here we START-

*_UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER_*

(unlocking bootloader will erase everything on your phone, i suggest you to take backup of your data)

First of all you need to take unlocking code from official sony website (link below)

developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/

after clicking on above link, on the page scroll down

1.select your device

2.provide your imei

3.you'll get unlock code (save it properly)

Next you need to download minimal adb and fastboot (link below)

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1S...akE/view?pli=1

install it to your computer.

Now we have to connect phone in fastboot mode, follow below steps

1.Turn on usb debugging mode.

(setting > developer option > usb debugging)

2.Turn Off your Xperia Acro S

3.Press and Hold volume up button and then connect usb to computer.
(If you see Blue LED of phone, then everythis is going right)
(Let your computer install essential fastboot drivers)

Now open minimal adb and fastboot (we installed previosly)
Type below command

-fastboot devices

-fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x(your unlock code without this brackets)

-fastboot reboot

DONE

(Now you have successfully unlocked your bootloader)

*_FLASHING KERNEL WITH RECOVERY'S_*

As you have STOCK ROM, you need to flash STOCK KERNEL with recoveries (link below)

forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2309117

-The above kernel cantain CWN as well as TWRP

After opening above link, download respective kernel
Save the above downloaded kernel to fastboot folder on your computer.

-Get into fastboot mode and connect to computer

Now open minimal adb and fastboot (we installed previosly)
Type below command

-fastboot devices
-fastboot flash boot kernel_62B196_acroS.elf
-fastboot reboot

As you have successfully flashed kernel with recoverys, its easy to take a full backup of your system.
To enter into recovery follow below steps

1.To get into CWM reboot your phone, press volume up key for few times when the magneta LED appears.
(To navigate use volume buttons, for selecting use power button)

2.To get into TWRP reboot your phone and tap the screen for few times when the magneta LED appears.

3.Select Backup.

DONE

(Now you have successfully Backedup your ROM)

*_FLASHING ROM BPaul's 5.1.1_*

For Flashing This ROM your phone (Xperia Acro S) needs to be rooted (if your not, use towelroot app, for me it was the easiest way to root my phone)
and USB Debugging in developers option should be enabled.

A] Download ROM BPaul's 5.1.1 (link below)

forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2799765&page=54#post60570826

-Extract the above downloaded ROM to your computer
(you'll see 2img files and 2recoveries)

B] Here you need to download acro s kernel (link below)

d-h.st/nJXM

C] Download below minimal GApps for 5.1.1 and copy it to your sdcard/ext_sdcard(link below)

forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/gapps-google-apps-minimal-edition-t2943330

(keep this downloaded kernel to above extracted folder)

Now to flash this rom you need to download FLashtool (link below)

d-h.st/Kb8

install the above downloaded Flashtool to your computer.

1.Now to flash recovery open the extracted ROM, and open recovery folder (2recoveries)

2.Pick your Recovery CWM or TWRP (TWRP Recommended) and copy it to internal storage of your phone.

3.Open minimal adb and fastboot

Type below command;

-adb shell
-su
(confirm popup su request from your phone)
-dd if=/sdcard/twrp.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 OR dd if=/sdcard/cwm.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11

Now you need to flash 2img files, to do so follow below steps

1.Open Flashtool

2.Click Flash button (Lightning icon, top left)

3.Select Fastboot mode

4.Reboot phone to fastboot (power off phone>push vol up key and connect usb)

5.Now in flashtool select SYSTEM to flash and open system.img (wait for 6 minimum minutes)

6.Now select KERNEL to flash and open boot_07_05_15.img

7.Now select REBOOT DEVICE INTO SYSTEM.

8.Open your respected recovery (CWM or TWRP)

9.Install>your downloaded gapps from sdcard/ext_sdcard

10.Wipe cache + Dalvic cache + Factory reset

11.Reboot

DONE
(You have successfully installed BPaul's 5.1.1)

Today I finally gathered courage to try flashing custom rom to my old HOX.
Never again.
I do all steps, reading like 70 pages of thread, check everthing few times, and I still had errors, got bootloop after trying to flash boot.img and rom
I with it was easier. Now the only thing I want is to get back phone to state before messing wiht kernel and rom and leave it be.
Which is hard, because even after restoring twrp nandroid backup I get bootloop :crying:
